History of the editions of these Sessions
MADRID
The I Jornadas de Jóvenes Investigadores en FÃsica Atómica y Molecular were held in 2008. They were organised by the Department of Aggregates, Molecular and Atomic Physics of the Institute of Fundamental Physics (CSIC, Madrid). Eighteen speakers, who presented their scientific work in short presentations, attended the event.
BARCELONA
Because of the success which first edition had, the University of Barcelona was chosen to host the II Jornadas de Jóvenes Investigadores en FÃsica Atómica y Molecular in 2010. Students from different departments were in charge of the organisation. The Department of Structure and Constituents of Matter at the Faculty of Physics, the Institute of Cosmos Sciences, the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, the Institute of Computational and Theoretical Chemistry and the Department of Physical Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry were involved. The number of participants rose to forty-one.
SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
After the success of the two previous editions the Sessions began to take place annually. The University of Santiago de Compostela was in charge of preparing the III Jornadas de Jóvenes Investigadores en FÃsica Atómica y Molecular in 2011. The students of the Group of Computational and Theoretical Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry were organisers. Topics dealt during the Sessions were expanded and poster sessions were created to show the studies. The number of participants was thirty-one.
GRANADA
The IV Jornadas de Jóvenes Investigadores en FÃsica Atómica y Molecular were organised by the University of Granada in 2012. The people who performed this task were members of the Department of Nuclear, Molecular and Atomic Physics at the Faculty of Sciences. This meeting remained within the line which characterised previous editions.
MADRID
In 2013 Madrid returned to host, in this case, the V Jornadas de Jóvenes Investigadores en FÃsica Atómica y Molecular, but this time the students of the Department of Physics at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid were who organised them. The number of participants reached forty and the event was extended up to three days.
BILBAO
The VI Jornadas de Jóvenes Investigadores en FÃsica Atómica y Molecular took place in Bilbao in 2014 and were organised by mates of the Department of Physical Chemistry at the University of the Basque Country. Twenty-nine participants attended. The event was three days long, as the previous edition.
JAÉN
The VII Jornadas de Jóvenes Investigadores en FÃsica Atómica y Molecular were the last edition held. They took place in Jaén this current year, 2015. Mates of the Department of Physical Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry at the University of Jaén were in charge of the organisation. This has been the edition with the highest number of participants: forty-eight.
NEXT EDITIONS
Valladolid and Sevilla are the cities which have the honour to host the two next editions of these Sessions. In Valladolid we are organising the VIII Jornadas de Jóvenes Investigadores en FÃsica Atómica y Molecular in 2016; Sevilla will be in charge of organising the IX Jornadas de Jóvenes Investigadores en FÃsica Atómica y Molecular in 2017. Following ones have to be decided yet; in this way, continuity of these Sessions will be assured.
